Adairan Vabdas
Adairan Vabdas Childhood:
At first from an outside perspective, Adairan was seen as your average child, appearing to be a little shy as he was usually seen sitting alone. It was because of this nobody paid much attention to the finer details of Adairan's life like "what is he doing locked in places alone?" "What does he always mutter?" "Why does he not help his fellow Dunmer?"
The answer was simple...
Not only did Adairan have a natural gift for Destruction magic like the rest of the Dunmer his age but had a particular interest in the dead. Always looking for answers to satisfy his curiosity. Answers to questions like "why bury bodies instead of revival? Where do the souls go? Why don't our ancestor's spirits appear in front of us to aid?" Through out his childhood, he continued looking for answers and keeping to himself.
Adairan Vabdas Teenage Life:
Unlike the rest of his peers, he had only a basic ability in the knowledge of frost and shock destruction magic but, excelled in the fire element. By this point Adairan had been searching and reading for the answers he sought as a child for years but still revealed no answers that would satisfy these urges he had to know. Day after day Adairan continued his quest for answers while keeping up training with his father, Nathanael, in his skills with an ax as his family could not afford much steel or iron nor any weapons in general. One morning Adairan decided to break his usual daily patterns and went off to just relax and clear his mind. When he had returned back home he was greeted with a disturbing sight he never would have imagined...
His parents dead. Blood all over the floor, the bodies, and the walls. Nathanael and his wife Ashana were attacked by a lone shadowscale that was freshly initiated into the dark brotherhood. As Adairan sat there on his knees over the bodies of Nathanael and Ashana a glint of sun reflecting off something on Nathanael's wrist caught his eye, it was the hidden blade made by the dwemer that has been passed down through his family since The Battle of Red Mountain where the dwemer where the dwemer had disappeared after the tribunal launched their secret weapon. While Adairan was removing the blade from Nathanael's body there was a reflection of the Shadowscale behind drawing his dagger and Adairan reacted on his instinct of survival. Adairan blacked out after afterward and was awakened by some passers by while the 3bodies were being taken care of. Adairan ran off to a small water source and noticed the scars on his face in his reflection. Just then he decided to seek revenge on the shadowscale and entire brotherhood for taking away his parents. He grabbed his book and ran off to leave Morrowind. On his way to the border, the local blacksmith caught up with him and gave him an axe and told him his mother was giving up every coin she received so Adairan could have a way to protect himself when he left on his own one day. Adairan took the ax nodded his head and set off.
The Travels:
As Adairan traveled around Tamriel doing odd jobs for coin as he kept to himself to avoid trouble trying to track down the dark brotherhood. He kept the blade of his father and the ax from his mother at his side to protect him from any trouble that would arise on his travels, studies, and training. Aside from his two weapons, that he vowed would taste the dark brotherhoods blood, all he had was the clothes on his back and a book he always kept on him, called it his way of life. In this book were his rules, 11 of them to be exact. Every night Adairan would think about his parents and dabble in the art that was frowned upon in Skyrim as the years began to pass by. Then one night he did it, it wasn't a very strong spell but it was a start nonetheless. He had risen a corpse. Adairan's last stop before finally entering into Skyrim was to a tailor where he had some robes made. While waiting for his robes he heard rumors and so started investigating once he was into Skyrim. Adairan found his way to Whiterun where he once again witnessed another murder, this time the murder of the owner of breezehome. Adairan decided to search the body for the key and claimed breezehome as his own. After a little more investigating the rumors of another dunmer he had heard of back in Morrowind...Atvir Dres The Last Prince of Tear was true. Adairan knew he needed to find him...
Life In Skyrim
Adairan wanted to hunt down the Dark Brotherhood immediately but knew her was not ready based upon the stories he had heard from civilians in the passing towns and cities. Knowing how strong this dangerous group it only made Adairan more determined to train and hone his natural gift for fire and his newly discovered power of necromancy. Even though he had to train and hone his skills to be ready he also knew he had to make a living and earn some coin in some way. After some time wandering and sitting at the inn drinking in Riverwood it hit him like a freight train. He could hone his skills, test himself and make money by collecting on bounties. Adairan then started asking the inn keepers everywhere he went if they had heard of any bounty related jobs that needed to be done. Some time had passed as he collected letters and cashed in on bounties to keep a good living going. it wasn't glorious but it kept his robes clean, weapons sharpened, and food in his belly. After what seemed like months Adairan knew he was getting stronger as he trained in between collecting. It was then that he knew...it was time.
Adairan had heard rumors about a boy who was trying to summon the dark brotherhood for a contract of his own. By luck, it happened to be in the same city that The Prince of Tear was said to be in...Windhelm. Adairan began to set out immediately to Windhelm with 200gold left in his pocket he took the carriage costing him 100. Upon his arrival, he went straight to the boy for information then proceeded to look for Atvir. Eventually, he found him drinking, not what Adairan had pictured for a prince but you take what you can get. Atvir tagged along with Adairan proving his skills with his blades in battles on numerous occasions. With Atvir's skills at his side, he knew the Dark Brotherhood wouldn't stand a chance.
Proceeding to Riften to full fill the contract, taking money from the brotherhood, Adairan killed his target with ease to no surprise and returned to collect the payment in Windhelm. Upon his collection of a valuable plate, he stayed at the Inn in town and was awoken in a strangely abandoned shack.
He was greeted by a mysterious woman as he awoke in a groggy state. Then it hit him...those colors...those robes...the one man capture skills to get past Atvir. There was no doubt this is what he wanted, Astrid had shown her face and locked herself in with Adairan...big mistake. Astrid ordered him to kill and so he did. The problem was it wasn't who she wanted for Adairan quickly and swiftly took the life of Astrid... he loved every second of it. After she was dead he got the idea to bring back her body with his necromantic powers however there had seem to of been a magical barrier protecting her from such spells.
Adairan went into the closest town and met up with Atvir and told him what had happened. The local guard nearby overheard this and suggested he go report it to the head of the guards. Taking his advice the two set off to do this. Atvir once again displaying his skills on the road during the ambushes and many attacks on the way to Dragon Bridge. Adairan and Atbir had finally arrived and relayed this information to the head guard and in return, he got some information he was looking for...the location and password into the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary.
These two once again headed out but when they got there Atvir told Adairan that he could not go in there, it was a place filled with great evil, more than Atvir was willing to corrupt himself with. Adairan respected his decision and went in alone. Moments later he emerged from the door with but one word...
Pathetic...
The Dark Brotherhood was no more and in the blink of an eye eliminated by the darkness and vengeance that had corrupted his soul over the years...
Atvir went off on his own way from then on and Adairan, well... he was never seen again since that fateful day
